An automated immersion ultrasonic testing system for inspecting cylindrical workpieces such as shafts and disc-type components (e.g., turbine discs, rotors, flywheels) made of carbon and high-alloy steels, using pulse-echo and mirror-shadow inspection methods. The system ensures high productivity and objectivity of testing through full automation of the process, minimizing the influence of the human factor and significantly improving the reliability and repeatability of results.

Inspection scenario
The system consists of an immersion tank with a faceplate for mounting the component under test and a multi-axis scanner equipped with servo drives and precision mechanics, ensuring fast and accurate movement of the inspection unit with the ultrasonic transducer. Scanning is performed along a complex trajectory programmed in the software according to the customer's specific testing procedure. Upon customer request, the immersion tank can be equipped with a lifting platform to facilitate the loading and unloading of workpieces.
